Around Tafaroute

We dumped the luggage in the hotel for the day and explored the Anti-Atlas mountains around Tafaroute. It made a huge difference to ride the bike without half a ton of stuff strapped to it. We decided to collect some souvenirs of the trip....some interesting rocks or pebbles. Richard thought he should bring something extra special back for Jo.

We stopped for a cuppa in a small village cafe and were soon the objects of much interest. This seems to be a pretty common event. We seem to be the highlight of a lot of people's day. People stop and stare and smile/wave to you.
As we were sipping the syrupy sweet tea, this old boy turned up for work and started mending some of the broken tea pots from the cafe.

The area around Tafaroute is covered in trails for walking, mountain biking and Motor cycling. If you are ever short of an idea for a place to go walkabout, this is a good place to consider. The food is excellent, scenery is jaw dropping, the people are very friendly and it is relatively cheap. Just dont drive off the edge of the road and definitely give way to anything driven by a local and you will be fine.

Just because everyone loves a picture of a cute puppy. This little lot will probably graduate to being a useful as their parents, lazing in the middle of the street for hours on end.

Distance 155km
